Greetings
and good day ! My name is Ruel Brown, a citizen of Jamaica,
I currently reside in Manalapan, NJ – USA.
In September 1999 I founded the GRANNY-Icy Academic Scholarship/Adopt A Student Program for students in Eastern Kingston ,
i.e Norman Gardens, Mountain View Ave, Jarrett Lane and Saunders Lane community.
Thus far I have provided scholarships for
five (5) students to attend College/University in Jamaica
and additional support for ten (10) students in high school, I have also donated six
(6) personal computers and associated hardware to students in the community and co-sponsored a local Spelling Bee Competition.
As an extension to these activities I have
invited some of the students to visit Disney World for a week (August 11-18) at my expense. Four of nine students received
US visas on June 27, 2001. Unfortunately, the other five students are
very disappointed they were not granted visas. Hence, the reason for this letter is to see if there is any action you could
take with the US Embassy in Jamaica to assist these students.
I have attached some supporting documents
regarding this matter. I know that you have a very busy schedule and I thank you very much in advance for any actions that
you may take.
Thank you very much and blessings.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at

Respectfully,
